Home to the pilgrimage centre of Madurai, and the most famous temple in India, Tamil Nadu is a real assault on the senses. Savouring the foods, sights, colours, sounds and warm welcome of this region in India, Intrepid families will certainly love this spicy adventure! <br> <br> Is it right for your family? The south of India is more relaxed than the north which makes for easier travel. Hotels are generally of a very good standard, with most having pools. The hotels also have a major emphasis on responsible practices. Travelling can be slow at times but distances covered are not overly long. There is so much to interest children of all ages - learning to cook, visiting an Indian school, seeing working elephants and cruising on a rice barge.
