Navigator South uses Ordnance Survey 1:50,000 maps to enable you to create and print full colour personalised route maps of southern England (from Manchester to the south coast) and all of Wales, at a scale of your choice. Recommended for the Duke of Edinburgh Award, it functions with a PC, pocket PC or smartphone to allow you to visualise terrain, tracks and landmarks in 3D with the ability to zoom and spin. Aerial photography is also included, allowing you to see the lie of the land. It is compatible with most GPS units including Garmin, Magellan, Suunto, Lowrance/Silva and Navman. Whilst on the path you can plot your position in real time on a moving display and, on your return, it allows you to conduct a performance review (subject to the features of your GPS) so you can see exactly where you've been, your speed and the distance you covered. You can even monitor your heart rate along the way. When used on a PC, it requires Microsoft Windows XP or 2000, 256Mb RAM, 200Mb hard-disk space and a minimum screen resolution of 800 x 600. 3D-World™ requires Microsoft Direct-X graphics support – check your PC's compatibility using the free trial download from Memory Map's web site. Pocket PC users require Microsoft Pocket PC 2000 or Windows Mobile for Pocket PC 2002 or later with ActiveSync connection and 16Mb RAM.
